Find your way around PicaLook in a tap or two.

Quick answers for readers and writers. Tap a question to open it. If yours is not here, the contact page is always open.

Reading

Do I need an account to read?

No. Every story on PicaLook is free to read, with nothing to sign up for and no app to install. Open a link and start looking.

How do I follow a writer I like?

Use RSS. Every writer’s profile has an RSS link (it lives at /their-handle/feed.xml), and the whole site has a feed at /feed.xml. Add either one to a feed reader and new posts will come to you.

How do I find more stories on the same subject?

Tap one of the topic chips under a post to see stories on that topic from every writer. On a writer’s profile, the round rings at the top are their categories.

Why do some posts show a colourful poster instead of a photo?

Not every story comes with a picture. When a post has no cover photo, PicaLook gives it a pastel typographic cover with the title in large type, so it still looks at home in the grid.

Why are many posts in Vietnamese?

Writers publish in their own language, and many of them write in Vietnamese. The PicaLook interface is in English, and accented text is fully supported throughout.

Comments

How do I leave a comment?

Scroll to the end of a story, type the name you would like to appear and your comment, then press Post comment. There is no account and no email address to enter.

Why doesn’t my comment show up yet?

Guest comments are held for review and appear only after our moderators approve them. Comments that are not approved are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Can I change or remove a comment I posted?

Because comments do not need an account, there is no way to edit them yourself. Send us a message through the contact page with the topic “Privacy request”, the link to the post and the name you used, and we will take care of it.

Writing on PicaLook

How do I get a blog here?

Writer accounts are by invitation only and there is no public sign-up. If you would like to write here, tell us about your stories through the contact page and choose “Writing here”.

What makes a good cover photo?

A cover is shown wide on the post itself and cropped into tiles and rings elsewhere, so keep the subject near the centre and leave a little breathing room around it. Use photos you took yourself or have permission to use, and choose one that tells readers what the story is about at a glance.

Who owns what I publish?

You do. By publishing, you give PicaLook permission to host, display and distribute your posts (for example through RSS). You can ask us to remove a single post or your whole blog at any time. The terms explain the details.

Can I link to my own website?

Yes. Your profile can include a link to your website, and links inside posts are ordinary links, so you can point readers to your own site and your sources. Please keep them honest, as described in the guidelines.

Reports and requests

How do I report a post or a comment?

Use the contact page, choose “Report a post or comment”, and include the link and a short note about what is wrong. For your own work published without permission, choose “Copyright”.

How do I ask about information you hold about me?

Choose “Privacy request” on the contact page. Our privacy policy explains exactly what the site keeps and for how long.
